We have come to the end of another incredible season! As we look forward to next season, there are a few big tasks to accomplish in order to finish strong.
The Food Bank is moving to our new home on Griffin street this fall! We are all so excited to be in this space that our community has dreamed about and worked tirelessly to make a reality! This means that we need to relocate our beloved greenhouse from the Bond street location to Story Mill Learning Garden.
Come help us put this structure back together in a new home. We are envisioning an old fashioned barn raising! This will be quite the task but many hands make light work!
There are also several other jobs that need attention before the snow flies, such as cleaning and organizing the garden shed, chopping/mulching and removing plant matter from the garden beds, amending the beds with compost, winterizing the fruit trees, turning the compost piles, etc!
There will be a job for everyone so even if you don't feel comfortable with the building portion you will be able to be helpful!
Please bring:
-Tools if you have them and feel comfortable using them(wrenches, sockets, drills, post pounders)
-Work gloves if you have them(garden gloves are available but if you are working with tools you may want more protection)
-Closed toed shoes, weather appropriate clothing, and a water bottle.
-An open mind and a helper attitude!
