Story Mill Learning Garden

Located in the new Story Mill Community Park, the Learning Garden is a community gathering space and an educational hub where visitors can learn about the agricultural histories of our region, Indigenous foods, the importance of pollinators, different methods of gardening, and what grows well in Montana. Gallatin Valley Food Bank is proud to manage this space in partnership with the City of Bozeman and the Trust for Public Land. Our vision is to create a healthier, more resilient, food-secure community in which all of the members are empowered and have the means to nourish themselves. Our mission is to cultivate an environment of community-driven education, agricultural stewardship, environmental awareness, and food sovereignty.

Description

We need volunteers to help us with garden projects including laying weed cloth, moving compost into raised beds, and scraping paint off our shed. Tools, snacks & water will be provided. We have some work gloves, however if you have your own please bring them. Also, if you have a wheelbarrow that would would be willing to bring for the day, we need as many as we can get!

Since the Story Mill Community Park is not open to the public yet, we will meet in the parking lot of the Story Mill Community Center (600 Bridger Drive, Bozeman, MT) at 9am and enter the Learning Garden as a group.

We need 6-10 volunteers to help us with garden projects TBD. Gloves, tools, snacks & water will be provided.
