We need a group of 10-12 people every month to pack senior groceries.
Please come to the new food bank location at 206 E. Griffin Ave. You can come in the front door and wait in the lobby until the whole group arrives and Rachel comes up to greet you.
Please don't bring additional people with you unless they are signed up for the shift. Please only sign up if you are able to lift up to 15 pounds. No children under the age of 10 are permitted. Call GVFB at 406-602-8896 with any questions.
Don't forget to sign in and out of your shift to record your hours! Always wear closed-toed shoes for this session.
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), known here at the Food Bank as Senior Groceries, provides nutritious foods to senior households with an income at or below 150% of the federal poverty threshold (example: $1,883 for a household of one and $2,555 for a household of two). Each eligible senior is provided with groceries each month that include staple food items such as canned fruit and vegetables, grains, dairy products, proteins, cereal, and juice.
The average income of seniors participating in this program is just $763.91 a month.
